The Otsuka ISS module is named OAK ISS. The Japanese Oak tree represents the power and courage that comes with independently exploring new ideas to improve treatment outcomes for patients. OAK ISS is used for all support requests, their review, approval, progress updates, reconciliation and close out activities.
Otsuka supports ISS to explore novel research ideas and enhance our understanding of disease treatment to advance the delivery of quality healthcare and improve the lives of patients.
ISS research should have the potential to impact the disease state area of investigation and be clinically sound with attainable objectives.
Types of ISS research that we may support are:
- Interventional clinical studies
- Non-interventional studies, e.g. meta-analyses and pooled analyses, observational studies including epidemiology and health outcome studies, chart reviews
- Pre-clinical research (animal or in vitro studies) involving Otsuka medicinal products
Otsuka may provide financial support and/or study drug but is not the study sponsor. ISS investigators and/or their affiliated institutions assume all legal and regulatory responsibility for the study.
